FDHS students thrive at leadership conference

Fort Dorchester High School (FDHS) students participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference March 20 and March 21 at the Charleston Convention Center. They competed against business students from all across the state. The following students placed in their respective events:

Erin Spencer and Chandler Jackson: First place, Emerging Business Issues

Karen Mok, Chris Nagle and Kevin Vertfeuille: First place, Global Markets

Jason Kinard: First place, Cyber Security

Jocelyn Paonita: Third place, Public Speaking II

Elizabeth Samuels, Casey Sahlbom and Sarah Vargo: Fourth place, Business Plan

Michael Grimes: Fifth place, Technology Concepts

The first place winners will advance to the FBLA National Leadership Conference June 25-28 to be held in Anaheim, Calif., where they will compete nationally. Mrs. Maria Williams, business teacher at Fort Dorchester High School, is the FBLA Club advisor.
