There was a chill in the air. The Pinewood K5 students had studied about weather and snow. They did their snow dance. The students were bundled from head to toe and when they rounded the corner at the back of the Pinewood campus their faces showed the excitement! The snow covered ground and trees made for a winter wonderland. High School science teacher Chris Cusack had spent the entire night running a snow machine that he built himself. It required him to get up every hour on the hour throughout the night to refuel and check on the machine, but it was worth it to see the children having snowball fights, making snow angels, and even having serious discussions about whether the snow had come from the North Pole.

Meteorologist Bill Walsh paid a visit to record the Pinewood snowstorm. When contacted Mr. Walsh was a bit surprised to learn that it was going to snow at Pinewood Prep and had to see it for himself.
