Fort Dorchester High School FBLA CLUB
The 2007/08 members of the Fort Dorchester High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America competed at the S.C. State FBLA Conference on Friday 3/14 and 3/15. Our chapter had 23 students competing in various events. The FDHS FBLA Chapter set a school record by bringing home 7 first place trophies.
Out of the 23 students who competed, 15 are now qualified to compete at the National FBLA Conference, which will be held in Atlanta, GA June 26th through June 29th.
In the team events, we had students win 1st place in 5 events:
Business Plan – Jessica Paonita and Elizabeth Samuels
Emerging Business Issues – Kishan Bhula, Jackie Hodge, Jocelyn Paonita
Entrepreneurship – Karen Mok, David Stone THESE TWO STUDENTS EACH RECEIVED $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WINNING 1ST PLACE IN THEIR EVENT.
Global Business – Justin Fulcher, Kevin Vertfeuille
Website Development – Matt Busch, Alyse Gardner
In the individual events, two students placed 1st in their events and two students placed 2nd and 3rd in their events and also qualified to compete at the National FBLA Conference.

2nd place in Economics: Nick Schmidt
3rd place in Economics: Ryan Daugherty
