Bus Crash Victims Taken to Trident Health System HospitalsCharleston, SC; November 19, 2007 – More than 30 victims from an early morning bus crash were transported to area Trident Health System hospitals.Trident Medical Center in North Charleston received eighteen patients, sixteen of which were treated and released. The remaining two patients were admitted; one in fair condition in the intensive care unit and one in good condition. Twelve patients were taken to Summerville Medical Center and four were taken to Moncks Corner Medical Center; all were treated and released. According to Deborah Pasch, Chief Nursing Officer at Trident Medical Center, the health system’s incident command system was initiated, ensuring there were appropriate staffing levels and supplies at each facility to accommodate the additional patients. Reports from victims indicate the bus was chartered by a group of friends and family and was en route to Miami from St. Stephen for a Thanksgiving cruise.
