Trident Medical Center 2007 recipients include: Pura Caseja, office coordinator for Trident Breast Care Center, and Betty Hinks, a hospital volunteer. Summerville Medical Center recipients include: Deborah Lawrence, patient care coordinator, and Lee Kirven, a hospital volunteer.

This honor places all four recipients in nomination for the nationwide 2007 Frist Humanitarian Award, the highest honor an employee or volunteer can earn within HCA, the parent company of Trident Health System.

The Frist Humanitarian Awards were created to recognize one employee and one volunteer at each HCA facility who demonstrate extraordinary concern for the welfare and happiness of patients and their community.  The Humanitarian Awards are given annually in recognition of the humanitarian spirit and philanthropic work of the late Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr., a founder of Hospital Corporation of America, the predecessor company of HCA.
