Someone in America needs blood every two seconds. On Wednesday, December 9, Summerville Medical Center will host a blood drive for the community from 1– 6 p.m. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be located at the in-patient entrance at Summerville Medical Center. If an individual presents to donate, they will be entered into a regional drawing to win two Delta Airline tickets that will be held the first of the following month.

“There is a constant need to replenish the blood supply in the tri-county area” said Sandy Wallace, medical technologist with Summerville Medical Center. “Currently, we are at critical levels for all blood types, especially around the holidays.”
