Summerville Medical Center Awarded Dual Accreditation from The Joint Commission

May 25, 2010; Summerville, SC:  Summerville Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety. Summerville is one of the first hospitals in South Carolina to achieve designation in both knee and hip total joint certification.
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation.
