Trident Health System Invites Public to Senior Health & Fitness Lecture Series and Screenings

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

According to the Area Agency on Aging, older Americans are living longer and are more active than ever before. And with the aging of the baby boomer generation - the largest in our nation's history - America's senior population is expected to number 71.5 million by 2030.
Fortunately, early detection of risk factors and lifestyle changes can help older Americans live a healthy lifestyle. In an effort to help you identify these risks and symptoms, Trident Health System will provide our “Senior Health & Fitness Lecture Series”, health screenings and the latest information from physicians to help you lead a more active lifestyle.
In recognition of Older Americans Month in May, Trident Health System’s “Senior Health & Fitness Lecture Series” seminars will be conducted from noon to 1 p.m. at Trident Medical Center. The seminars are open to the public at no charge and a light lunch will be provided.
The “Senior Health & Fitness Lecture Series” schedule is as follows:

Health screenings will be held prior to the physician seminars from 9:15 – 11:30 a.m. by appointment. Screenings will include: lipid profile, height and weight, BMI, blood pressure and H1N1 vaccines. The screenings are free to H2U members and $25 for non-members. Also available: Brown Bag It!
