Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men (lung cancer is first), according to the American Cancer Society. But more than 2 million men in the United States who have had prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. The death rate is decreasing, in part because of early detection.
Prostate screenings are recommended for:
- All males starting at age 50
- All African-American males over 45
- Any male over 45 with a family history of prostate or breast cancer
For more information, call Consult-A-Nurse at (843) 797-FIND (3463) today to schedule your appointment. Appointments requested, walk-ins accepted upon availability. A brief pre-screening interview is required.
