Trident Medical Center Debuts Baby Lullaby Bell
North Charleston, S.C./ February 2, 2012 – Trident Medical Center is pleased to introduce a new baby lullaby bell. The system introduces each newborn baby into the world by playing “Brahms's Lullaby” by German pianist and composer Johannes Brahms. The lullaby's melody is one of the most famous and recognizable in the world, used by countless parents to sing their babies to sleep.
The system was installed to the hospital speaker system which is heard throughout Trident Medical Center. The lullaby lasts 15 seconds and begins when a member of the newborn’s family presses a button. “It serves as a tiny little respite during the day for our staff who work so hard to save lives. You can really see the positive effect it has on patients, visitors and staff,” said Pam Brock, Assistant Vice President of Marketing for Trident Health. The lullaby system will soon be installed at Summerville Medical Center as well. In 2011, Trident Health delivered more babies than any other hospital system in the Lowcountry.
