01) Moe's Southwest Grill

Moe's Southwest Grill welcomes the community to drop in and participate in the restaurant's final push to gather gifts for Toys for Tots this Christmas. The Dec. 8 event begins at 4:30 p.m. at 214 Azalea Square Blvd Unit A.

As one of The Lowcountry's quintessential Tex-Mex franchise chains known for their queso, taco, burrito and fajita offerings, Moe's Southwest Grill's seven Charleston-area locations also want to be recognized for their efforts to spread the joy among children this holiday season.

Moe's hopes to accomplish that objective through its first-ever gift drive with the people from Toys for Tots. In fact, drop-off boxes can be found at each of the local shops in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston and here in Summerville.

The deadline for drop-offs, per Moe's Southwest Grill's Training General Manager Angelisa Bazzle, is Dec. 14.

"They have an excellent panel of people who put all those toys together and hand them out to each county, depending on the need," she said of Toys for Tots.

Unlike the other six Lowcountry establishments, Moe's of Summerville (located at 214 Azalea Square Blvd Unit A) will kickoff a final effort to encourage the public to contribute new wrapped gifts for local youngsters on Dec. 8, starting at 4:30 p.m.

The event will include face painting activities, as well as tables where guests can decorate their individual Christmas stockings. Further, those who donate a boxed toy will also receive $3 off their meal.

Down the road, continued Bazzle, Moe's will seek out opportunities to spearhead or partner with other organizations in the interest of raising money for educational sports and arts departments and/or programs.

And those who have yet to experience eating a hearty portion of Tex-Mex fare at one of Moe's locations, Bazzle says that one thing a first-time patron will notice is the inviting atmosphere, as they'll be greeted with an enthusiastic "welcome to Moe's" salutation upon entering one of the sites.

The other factor she highlighted is that Moe's isn't a run-of-the-mill grab-and-go fast-food provider, but rather more of a family-style sit-down restaurant, where people can kick back and stay awhile.

"It's going to be a big party," Bazzle added in reference to the Dec. 8 final toy-drive push. "The whole family is invited."
