Dear Ms. Watts:

On Friday evening, February 3, Meals on Wheels of Summerville was pleased to present an outstanding performance of “Mark Twain! On Stage.”  John Chappell was masterful in bringing his character Samuel L. Clemens to life and he thoroughly delighted the audience for nearly two hours with his lively and colorful monologue.  This fundraising event was the latest in Meals on Wheels’ string of successful productions in Summerville and the first for 2012.

The Meals on Wheels board of directors wishes to thank St. Paul’s Summerville for allowing us to use Doar Hall for this event.  We are also sincerely grateful to the generous companies and individuals who sponsored this event.  We especially wish to thank you, the community for turning out for this production.

Most importantly, however, Meals on Wheels wants to thank our volunteers who continue to give of their time and resources to help prepare and to deliver our meals.  Over 39,000 meals were delivered in 2011 by our volunteers who are truly the essential element of our program.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This coming June 28 will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of Meals on Wheels of Summerville.  We are planning an exciting special event to mark this important milestone so stay tuned for more information.
