Thanks to an ‘angel’

Dear Editor,

I hope you will print this letter. It’s a letter of thanks to a very special “angel” who was in line behind me at the checkout counter in Publix on Central Avenue on Christmas Eve. The gentleman angel was kind enough to pay for my groceries.

I was rushing around and was not paying attention to what was going on around me, I heard the cashier and the guy behind me talking but I was not paying attention.

So, I put in my debit card and paid for the groceries – or so I thought – and went on my merry way.

When I got out to the lobby I realized I did not have my receipt. I sent my grandson Chris in to the cashier to ask for our receipt. She explained to Chris the gentleman just paid for our groceries. Chris then shook the guy’s hand and wished him a very Merry Christmas. I was so overwhelmed that I couldn’t stop crying,

I did not thank the Angel in person but I would like to do so now, “Thank you so very much.”

Things have been pretty hard emotionally this year. My husband died in March and this is our first Christmas without him.

Once again, thank you and have a very Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Mikki Hunter

Summerville
