Ketner, who is challenging the incumbent Henry Brown for the U.S. District One Congressional seat, opened the floor to any topics introduced by meeting attendees, and the subjects of alternate energies, defense and healthcare were introduced.
With the increasing costs of gasoline and other energy sources, Ketner announced a goal of building South Carolina as a center for alternate energies.
This would not only help our country overcome energy crises, but would also help build employment in the state within an ever-developing field, Ketner said.
The topics of defense, military and Iraq were included in the Q&A session with
Ketner. She also discussed healthcare and the National Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Also attending the breakfast meeting was Beverly Waggoner-Lucas, a candidate for county Treasurer. Waggoner-Lucas has over 20 years of county government experience, including 17 in Dorchester County and seven years as Deputy Courier.
