Friday afternoon, Summerville DREAM and the Summerville Fire Dept. had the opportunity to present plaques to two of the four groups of winners for the 2011 Annual Summerville Christmas Parade at the Summerville Fire Station. ServiceMaster of Charleston which won for the Award for Best Adherence to the “DREAMing of a GREEN Christmas” theme received their plaque from Susan Morris, executive director of Summerville DREAM and Chief Rodney Profit of the SFD. Accepting the award were Chantell Green, Elizabeth Thomas and Brian Hines.

Rose Court Farms accepted the award for the Most Creative entry and they were represented by Sue Callahan, Kathy Stell, Faith and Steve Williams, Robert Browning, Christina & Luke Clark, Taylor Young, Madi and Mary Cutts and Sadey, the dog.

The two Cub Scout Packs that were award winners were unable to be at the fire Station for the plaque presentation, however they sent pictures of the scouts who participated. Cub Scout Pack 776 sent a picture taken the day of the parade with their float which won the award for the Most Original entry. Cub Scout Pack 759 won the award for the Best Overall Entry in the 2011 parade and sent a picture of their scouts at their recent Pinewood Derby.

“We would like to extend our congratulations to all the entry winners for a job well done as well as thanks to all the entries that joined us in creating another wonderful Summerville Christmas Parade!” Morris said.
