Summerville Journal Scene ®
The investigation continues into a shooting Tuesday morning that left one man seriously wounded.
Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office investigators responded at about 5:15 a.m. at the Haven Oaks Apartments off of Orangeburg Road in Summerville to reports of a man injured and gunshots in the area, according to Maj. John Garrison.
Deputies, EMS, and fire personnel arriving on the scene found the victim, 36-year-old Robin David Walker, standing in the doorway of an apartment with blood on his hands and shirt and bleeding from a wound in his neck.
According to a DCSO incident report, Walker’s wounds contained buckshot consistent with a gunshot wound.
Due to the severity of his wounds, Walker was flown by Medevac to MUSC for treatment, Garrison said.
According to the incident report, deputies followed a trail of blood from the apartment to a large tree between two of the apartment buildings in the complex. Video from the apartment complex surveillance system does depict two people in an apparent struggle; one falls to the ground and the other flees the scene. Several people reported hearing a gunshot but no one was able to provide any other information.
Thus far no suspects are in custody and no witnesses have been located or come forward.
The victim has been unable to communicate with investigators, according to DCSO officials. The victim’s wounds do not seem to be life threatening.
Anyone with any information should call the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office at 843-873-5111.
