Delemar widening proceeding

  • Thursday, November 29, 2012

The widening of Delemar Highway is on the road to reality after County Council approved the final piece of paperwork earlier this month.
Council gave unanimous approval to the intergovernmental agreement with S.C. DOT to widen to five lanes the road that leads to Ashley Ridge High School.
The S.C. Transportation Infrastructure Bank awarded the county $13 million in February to complete the project, which has been under discussion for years.
Dennis Corporation will handle the engineering work. Under the draft schedule for Dennis, there will be a public information meeting in late January, advertisement for construction bids in July, and the start of construction in October.
