Updated Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. — Accompanied by an attorney, suspect Martin Louis Ballard turned himself in Friday, sheriff's Lt. Tony Phinney said.
----------------------------------------
Dorchester County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man they say shot another man in the leg Tuesday as part of an "ongoing dispute."
Martin Louis Ballard, 27, is wanted in connection with the shooting, which occurred about 4 p.m. on Pidgeon Bay Road, Maj. John Garrison said.
The 34-year-old victim and witnesses at the scene said Ballard got out of a car, approached the victim and shot him in the right leg, Garrison said.
The two men "have had problems in the past,” he said.
Ballard should be considered armed and dangerous, according to Garrison. He is known to frequent Ancrum Lane in Summerville, Burr Hill Road in Colleton County and an unknown location in downtown Charleston.
Garrison said Thursday morning that they planned to charge the suspect in the shooting with assault and battery with intent to kill.
Anyone with information on Ballard's whereabouts is urged to contact the sheriff's office at 832-0300 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

Ballard is a coward. Had to use a gun...cowardly. Too scared to get his butt whipped the old fashioned way I suppose. I bet he cries like a girl when they find him.
