The Future Teachers’ Society at Charleston Southern University will join with Dr. Linda Karges-Bone, a CSU professor and Director of Education InSite, to raise funds for clean water around the globe as part of the annual “Walk 4 Water” sponsored by Water Missions International.

The Water Missions International Walk for Water advocates for those affected by the global water crisis while raising funds to provide safe water around the globe. During the approximately 3.5 mile walk, participants carry a bucket filled with water to symbolize the trek that women and children make each day to collect water in developing countries.

Every day, over 5,500 people die from the effects of unclean water. Water Missions International provides rugged, sustainable water filtration units to the most needy places around the globe. Future Teachers will engage not only in the Walk 4 Water on March 24th, but in a service learning experience prior to the event, when they do lessons involving biblio-therapy to help children in low income local schools respond to the crisis. To support the Education InSite/CSU team, go to www.watermissions.org and donate to the Education InSite team or contact Dr. Bone at lbone@csuniv.edu for more information.

CSU alumna Katie Bowman and Clair Davis fill their buckets to “Walk 4 Water”.
