Executive Director Jaye Jones Elliott addresses a large group of hopefuls at the last meeting on January 26th. About 70 families expressed interest in partnering with Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to receive affordable housing in Dorchester County.
Dorchester Habitat for Humanity will hold their next New Family Application Meeting on August 28th. The meetings are held several times each year as a way to educate local families about how to obtain a safe, decent, affordable home through partnering with the organization. The meetings also serve as the first step in the process, which can take 6 months to a year or more to complete. At the meeting, attendees will learn about the history of Habitat for Humanity, as well as certain criteria they must meet to partner with the Dorchester affiliate. Applicants must live or work in Dorchester County, demonstrate a need for Habitat housing, and meet certain requirements regarding their income and personal debt.
The meeting will take place at Ashley Ridge High School at 6:00 PM. All those interested in attending must reserve a spot by calling the Dorchester Habitat for Humanity office at (843) 851-1414.
