Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s 42nd Home Nears Completion Thanks to the Support of Partner Family and Gracious Donors
Stephanie Lee is a hardworking lady who will soon be the owner of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s 42nd Home! All of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s volunteers, donors, and staff members who have seen Stephanie in action or who have worked with her can attest to her hardworking and determined spirit. Hard work and dedication come easy to Stephanie. She is shown in the attached photograph working in the yard of what will soon be her new Habitat Home! Stephanie has worked almost 500 sweat equity hours, far beyond the required 425 required sweat equity hours to complete the Homeownership Program and purchase a Habitat Home.
Stephanie looks forward to moving to safe neighborhood and to owning her own home, a home where her youngest daughter will grow up and thrive with the support of her neighborhood and the greater community. Stephanie’s dream, after she realizes her dream of homeownership, is that her Habitat Home will be in her family for at least 100 years! She says she has worked too hard for anything less. Stephanie knows that the sweat put into building her Habitat Home, by volunteers and herself, has built an energy efficient Home that will last for generations.
Stephanie looks forward to February 14th, the date planned for her closing. She especially looks forward to the Dedication Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, February 18th at 11 a.m. when she will have the opportunity to thank the individuals and businesses who partnered with her to build her Habitat Home and when she will receive the keys to her new Habitat Home. Stephanie was especially thankful today when she learned that she will have a shed when she closes and moves in, thanks to the support of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity donors Peggy Bangle, Jeff Bowers, Tony Pope, and Tisha Smith. Sheds are not included in the sale and purchase of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity Homes. Sheds are only built when individuals and/or businesses donate funds to purchase materials which are used by partner families and volunteers to build sheds. Sheds are needed to store yard maintenance equipment, toys, bicycles, tools, etc. and they are special gifts from donors who go out of their way to support a partner family. Stephanie’s joy and smile when she learned she was going to have a shed was a special thank you!
