The Hanahan High class of '69 will hold its 40-year reunion August 14-16, 2009. The event ticket includes: an optional tour of Hanahan High School to see the many changes and improvements, Friday at 3 p.m.; an informal “break the ice” get together, Friday at 7 p.m. at The Rendezvous Sports Bar, 7832 Rivers Ave., North Charleston (across from Northwoods Mall). Dress will be casual, and the event will be Dutch treat (bar and appetizers will be half price from 4-10 p.m.). The main reunion event will be held Saturday night in Ballroom “C” at the Embassy Suites North Charleston - Airport/Hotel and Convention Center, located at 5055 International Blvd., North Charleston. Attire will be sports coat and dressy. Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with heavy hors d'oeuvres at your leisure and cash bar, then dancing from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. with music provided by a disc jockey. Reunion ticket prices are $35 per person before July 1, 2009 and $40 after that date. A block of rooms have been secured for Aug. 14 and 15 for . The room discount rate is $119 per night, plus tax. The Embassy is only one mile from the airport so you have the option of taking the airport shuttle,or a rental car. You will be responsible for making your suite reservations through the front desk at (843) 747-1882, and remember to mention you are booking for the Hanahan High School reunion. Accommodations include complimentary breakfast, plus the convenience of lodging and the reunion being on the same property. There will be a manager's reception on Friday and Saturday for hotel guests from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with light snacks and free bar in the hotel atrium. Please bring your camera so you can take plenty of pictures at the reunion. Pictures will be published in a scrapbook with a 60s music track after the reunion for everyone that came to the reunion. There will be a "bring your own picnic lunch” at the Hanahan Recreation Park behind Trident Technical College (near Mabeline Lodge) on Sunday the 16th at 1 p.m. as closing festivities to what we believe will be an enjoyable and memorable reunion. We need all who are local or driving in from out of town to bring foldable lawn chairs for the picnic.
