Dorchester County Councilman Bill Hearn announced his intent to seek re-election to Dorchester County Council today. The Republican currently represents District 6 on Dorchester County Council.

“The issues facing Dorchester County continue to be vital and important to our future. We’ve made great strides over the past year, but our job isn’t done – and I want to be a part in continuing to shape our future and present. We need to continue to encourage job growth, improve our community with new infrastructure and make sure we’re creating a great place to call home,” Hearn said.

Hearn believes his record speaks for itself. That record includes:

Voting against Dorchester County Council’s pay raise they gave themselves and still not personally taking the pay raise.

Voting against and to eliminate fees that stifle small business development and job creation.

Improving our transportation network by helping secure our share of federal funds to improve Highway 78 and Dorchester Road.

“I believe my record speaks for itself.  I’m optimistic I’ve earned the support of my neighbors by putting our financial house first, focusing on economic development and improving our way of life.”

Filing for the office opens in March with the Republican primary election set for June 10.
