On Sept. 29, members of the Rotary Club of Summerville presented a check to the Miracle League of Summerville for $5,000. The donation came from the proceeds of the Duck Races that were held in June. The Miracle League’s goal is to enhance the lives of people with special needs. This is accomplished primarily through the national pastime of baseball, but also includes other activities that will bring together the special needs athletes and their families in a positive and enriching way. Games are held each Saturday in the fall through November 10. The field is located 615 South Laurel Street in Summerville. More information about donating or volunteering for the league can be found at www.summervillemiracleleague.org. The Miracle League is just one of many community organizations that are supported by local Rotary clubs.
