Woodlands Inn has once again retained the highest awards bestowed on the travel and dining industries.

The Forbes (formerly Mobil) Travel Guide bestowed upon Woodlands its Five Star Award for both accommodations and dining for the seventh consecutive year.

Anonymous reviewers from the publication stayed at the Inn earlier this year and rated their experience.

The American Automobile Association has also awarded Woodlands its Five Diamond rating for lodging and dining for the 14th consecutive year.

“We’re thrilled to maintain the (designations),” said Bob Seidler, general manager of Woodlands Inn. “It’s been a difficult year for everyone in the hospitality industry and we’re glad we were able to maintain service and quality standards.”

The retention of these ratings makes Woodlands one of only six properties in the United States to hold the Forbes Five Star and the AAA Five Diamond ratings for both lodging and dining.

“It’s really a testament to the continuity of the staff we have here,” Seidler said and. “They really have a great appreciation for what it takes to deliver that kind of service consistently.”

Woodlands Inn, an immaculately restored 1906 classic revival mansion set amidst 42 acres of parkland, appeals to a cross-section of guests. It has been named as the best five star value in the country by readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine, and, earlier this year, it added a new casual dining offering and began serving an a la carte menu in the Dining Room.

The Dining Room at Woodlands is widely known for its innovative and sophisticated version of New American Cuisine and the use of fresh local foods to create a nightly menu with a Lowcountry influence.

This spring, the Inn completed an overall enhancement program, which included the refreshment and refurbishment of all public spaces, dining areas and guest rooms. Built in 1906, Woodlands features 18 guest rooms and suites, a country guest cottage, a day spa, croquet lawn, red-clay tennis courts, a temperature-controlled swimming pool, a variety of meeting facilities, and golf privileges at nearby area courses. The Inn is located at125 Parsons Rd.
