Red Cross worker Williette Simmons helps Bentley Cheatham of Summerville as he donates his gift of life. Twenty-two donors took the time to give the gift of life Wednesday, January 2. A total of 66 patients can benefit from the blood collected. The Summerville Journal Scene and The Bank of South Carolina co-sponsored the blood drive in the parking lot of The Bank of Summerville at 100 N. Main St. This is the third year the businesses have co-sponsored a blood drive after the holidays. The American Red Cross is in dire need of blood at this time. The Red Cross bloodmobile was parked at The Bank of South Carolina at 100 N. Main St. Wednesday to take blood donations.
