Levey William “Jack” Bailey, 80, of Summerville, widower of Ellen Elizabeth Bailey, died Monday March 1, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held today at Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to Knightsville United Methodist Church, Recreational Fund, 1500 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483 or to A Caring Heart Hospice, 6296 Rivers Avenue, Suite #307, Charleston, SC 29406.
Mr. Bailey was born March 5, 1929 in Lodge, SC, a son of the late Levey William Bailey and Maudie Box Bailey. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from National Linen Service. He was a member of Knightsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Judie Bailey Richardson and husband John of Summerville, Jill Bailey Henry and husband Thomas of Summerville, Jackie Bailey Rourk of Aiken and Gloria Elizabeth Mills and husband Jimmy of Charleston; two sisters, Roberta Albers of Huger and Mattie Gregg of Bonneau; two brothers, Lenwood Bailey of James Island and John Bailey of Bonneau; nine grandchildren, Johnathan and Joshua Richardson, Tommy and Elizabeth Henry, Elle and Will Rourk, Margaret Ward, Frank and Benny Shaw; five great-grandchildren; cousins, Clyde and David Clayton and Mammie Powell; and many nieces and nephews; caregivers, Anna Gilbert and Patricia Cromer.
