Entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 20, 2010, Robert Anderson Bowman, 78, husband of Jennie Lee Hudson Bowman. Born to the late William Anderson Bowman and Emma Johnson Bowman on November 3, 1931 in Chattanooga, TN. Bob attended Chattanooga area schools and graduated from Trident Technical College. He served his county faithfully and honorably with the United States Air Force during the Cold War and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife Jennie of Summerville, SC; four sons, William A. Bowman of Seattle, WA; Richard G. Epps of Union, OH; Michael C. Epps of North Charleston, SC; and Albert J. Epps of Summerville, SC; one daughter, Linda E. Kalameja of Hanahan, SC; one brother, Frank Bowman of Ft. McCoy, FL; one sister, Louise McGill of Lafayette, GA; three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by brother, Ben Bowman, and sister, Lena Knight, both of Lafayette, GA.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Summerville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2010. Bob will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 409, Clinton, SC 29325-0409.
