Ernesto Gonzales Danila, 84, of Ladson, SC, husband of Julieta Angeles Danila, died February 6, 2010 at Summerville Medical Center.
The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday morning, February 10, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10 o’clock. The rite of committal will take place at Plantation Memorial Gardens. Friends called at Parks Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Danila was born July 24, 1925 in Olongapo City, Provence of Zambales, Philippines, a son of Salustino Danila and Columba Gonzales Danila. He retired from the US Navy, where he served for 30 years, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and WWII. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by family and many friends. He will be joining his “Kongdongson” Charlie.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Julieta Angeles Danila of Ladson; a daughter, Carmen Judy and a son, Ernesto A. Danila and wife Eugenia, all of Summerville; a daughter, Cynthia Bunch and husband Bennie of Summerville; a son, Edwardo A. Danila of Ladson; one brother, Sebastion Danila of Philippines; one sister, Julieta Carpio of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor and in the Emergency Room at Summerville Medical Center for their loving and professional care during his illness. Also, special thanks to Stacy Quaid for her loving care the last several months.
