LODGE – Mrs. Lois Evelyn Fisk, 90, of Fisk Lane in Lodge, entered into her state of eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, August 31, 2010, at the Summerville Medical Center. She was the widow of Mr. Jacob Eddie Fisk.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Friday morning, September 3, 2010, from Carter’s Ford Baptist Church, 6507 Lodge Highway, Lodge, with The Reverend Spencer Brotherson officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
Mrs. Fisk was born January 30, 1920, in Lodge, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Joe McMillan and the late Laticia Bishop McMillan. She was a seamstress having retired from Smoaks Manufacturing and was a life long member of Carter’s Ford Baptist Church. At her church, she worked closely with the flower committee, making sure there was always fresh beautiful bouquets in the church for Worship services, was a former member of the adult choir, was active in the Sunday School, and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union – having on many occasions hosted the meetings in her home. She was dedicated to her church, family, community, and friends. A simple lady in her nature, she will always be remembered for her love and talent of cooking delectable southern cuisine, the wonderful meals she prepared, the occasions and gatherings she hosted for fun and fellowship, and the dedication she had to her God and her church.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sandra Fisk Marchand of Summerville; two sons, Eddie Marshall Fisk and his wife Ethylean of Beaufort and Jerry Lavern Fisk and his wife Helen of Martinez, Georgia; and a sister, Carrie Lee Bennett of North Charleston. There are seven grandchildren, Deborah Mixson, Marvin Stanley, Cherie Thompson, Michael C. Fisk, Richard R. Gregerson, Sr., Michelle Schmitt, and Michael Marchand; as well as nine great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Carter’s Ford Baptist Church, for use with their Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1, Lodge Highway, Lodge, South Carolina 29082.
