DeAnna Jeffords, 50, of North Charleston, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 200 Central Ave, Summerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 333 N. Summit Street, PO Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699.

She was born June 28, 1961 in West Point, NY, a daughter of the late William A. and Dorothy Delores Jeffords. She graduated from Summerville High School in 1980 and continued her education by achieving a degree in Business Administration from Trident Technical College. She was employed at New Hope in Summerville for several years and was deeply touched by her time there. She was a mentor to many women over the last 13 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother and always enjoyed a good laugh. A special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Dr. Silgals, and Team DeAnna.

Ms. Jeffords is survived by one son, Matthew G. Rapagna of Summerville, grandson, Matthew G. Rapagna, III of Summerville, daughter in law, Meighan Rapagna of Summerville, soul mate, Joe Galentine of Summerville, three brothers, Art Jeffords of Bothell, WA, David Jeffords of Kings Mountain, NC, and Woody Jeffords of Gray Court, SC, four sisters, Dianne Horton of Johns Island, Donna Wentzell of N. Charleston, Debi Weese of Galloway, OH, and Candy Upchurch of Summerville, 9 nephews and nieces, 13 great nephews and nieces, and 12 step family members.
