Whitney Nicole Simmons, 23, of Summerville, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010.
Funeral service will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 3 o’clock at Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Avenue, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. Friends and family may call at the church on Friday from 2 o’clock until time of service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to: Low Country Animal Rescue, PO Box 952, Ladson, SC 29456.
Whitney was born September 26, 1986 in Charleston, daughter of Keith Simmons of Summerville and Christy Simmons of James Island. She was a graduate of Dorchester Academy and attended Trident Technical College. She enjoyed Gamecock football, going to the lake, fishing, playing softball and spending time with her family and her pet “Mr. Whiskers”. She was a dental assistant and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving in addition to her parents are: brother: Logan Simmons of James Island, sister: Abby Dycus of James Island, grandparents: Romie and Martha Simmons of Summerville, Charles and Lola Chitwood of Summerville and Tamar and D’Ellis Green of Summerville, aunts and uncles: Chan and Kimberly Chitwood of Greenwood, SC, Clay Chitwood of Varnville, SC, Charla Chitwood, Carrie Chitwood and Darren Simmons all of Summerville, numerous cousins and many friends.
