If you ever find yourself in Hell Hole Swamp on a Saturday night, listen closely and you might hear the sounds of bluegrass music being played. For over 30 years musicians have been coming to Guy & Tina's Pickin Parlor in Bethera to jam together in the small shack.
The parlor, according to Tina Faulk, started as a place for her band to get together and play music. Soon word of mouth spread the parlor became a hit among locals. The pickin parlor has featured popular bluegrass musicians from across the United States as well as locals wanting to carry on the bluegrass tradition.
On some nights, it is standing room only as people pack the shack to enjoy the music.
"We never thought it would get so big," Faulk said.
