There is nothing better than Barbeque unless it is served with a little Bluegrass on the side. A long-time fan of Barbeques growing up in Texas, I wanted to see why people love it here in the Carolinas. What better place to learn about local barbeque than to visit a barbeque competition.
Boone Hall Plantation held its competition this Labor Day weekend and 14 locals and amateurs showed off their talents behind the grill. From ribs and chicken to scallops and poblano peppers, there was a good mix of food.
I was just lucky enough to taste some of the juiciest, delicious, fall off the bone tender ribs and chicken I have had in a long time.
What goes better with a Barbeque than some Bluegrass music. Enjoy the slideshow with the sounds of The Carolina Chocolate Drops...
