Indian nations as far away as Canada and Oklahoma traveled to participate in the 2011 Annual Edisto Indian Natchez-Kusso Powwow in Ridgeville. Anthony Davidson, chief of the Edisto Four Hole Indian Organization, said a powwow is like a family reunion as tribes come together to visit and celebrate their cultures.
A tradition older than America was even more special last year as the Edisto Indian tribe gained state recognition.
