Spirit soccer team gets hot in Atlanta
The Summerville Soccer Club Spirit U12 Girls won the AFC Lightning Spring Challenge in Atlanta March 30-31.
The Spirit went 4-0, scoring a total of seven goals while allowing none. On Saturday, the Spirit started things off against Lady Cannons with a 2-0 victory. The Spirit then faced Atlanta Fire United Bronze and again won 2-0.
On Sunday, the Spirit face AFC Lightning Silver in what was yet another 2-0 victory. The Spirit then faced Atlanta Fire United Silver in the final game of the day to see who would finish in first place and claim the title of group champions.
In the championship game,the Spirit had their break in the second half from a corner to win the game 1-0.
