Bethany hoops
Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville is having registration for its Community Basketball League, which has a division for children age 5-11 and a division open to all area teenagers.
The registration fee is $65 and forms are available at www.bethanygym.com and at the church welcome center. Forms should be sent to Bethany United Methodist Church Leisure Ministries, 118 West Third South St., Summerville, S.C. 29483.
Payment in the form of a check or money order and a copy of the child’s birth certificate must be included. Team drafting will be the last week of October. Practices will begin the week of Nov. 3 and will be held on weekday afternoons or evenings. Miler event
Miler Country Club will host the annual Cuthbert Senior Cup 36-hole tournament Oct. 25. For more information, call 873-2210. The tournament benefits the Tommy Cuthbert Scholarship Fund presented by the Dorchester Free School Board.
Dolphin run
The seventh annual Newington Elementary School PTA Run with the Dolphins 5k and Mile Fun run is set for Nov. 1. The 5k starts at 8 a.m. at NES. Awards will be given for the top three runners (m/f), top three runners for various age groups and top three parent/child teams (m/f). The South Carolina Stingrays recently announced that individual game tickets for the 2008-09 regular season are on sale to the general public. Lacrosse coaches
Charleston Youth Lacrosse, serving Summerville, North Charleston and Goose Creek, is in need of individuals with Lacrosse experience to coach. Boys’ and girls’ teams will be formed from youth to high school age. Call 303-2225 for more information.
Strom camp/registration

The Team Lowcountry travel baseball club for players age 8-15 is preparing for its upcoming fall season. The 2008 Golf Privilege Card, a discounted admissions card to participating golf courses in the Southeast, is available in the tri-county area. The card offers one or more rounds of golf at more than 700 courses in several southern states and features free or reduced greens fees.
