Coosaw Creek atoned for its poor start in 2010 by winning the third match of the Charleston Area Men’s Interclub season.
Coosaw came in with a plus 4 score to place first at the March 1 match at Pine Forest. Crowfield was second with a negative 3. Trailing were Charleston National (-6), Rivertowne (-7), Shadowmoss (-10), Charleston Municipal (-15), Miler (-16), Pine Forest (-22), Legend Oaks (-27), Dunes West (-28), Wescott (-38), Stono Ferry (-39) and Berkeley (-53).
Individual honors went to Paul Kattawar of Charleston Municipal, who placed first with a plus 8 score. Stan Petrohovich of Wescott, Steve Radin of Stono Ferry, John Bliss of Crowfield and Chuck Byrden of Stono Ferry all tied for second with plus 5 marks. Bliss also had a hole in one on the 13th hole. Prior to the match, Steve Windich presented the 2009 championship trophy to Dave George and the Pine Forest team.
Rivertown leads the point standings with a 33 total and Crowfield sits in the second slot with a 29 total. Trailing are Charleston National (26.5), Berkeley (25.5), Miler (24), Shadowmoss (22.5), Legend Oaks (22), Coosaw Creek (19), Stono Ferry (18), Charleston Municipal (18), Wescott (17), Dunes West (12) and Pine Forest (11.5).
The next match will be at 9 a.m. April 5 at Miler.
