Co-ed kickball
Registration is now open for two of the Charleston divisions of the World Adult Kickball Association. The Sweetgrass Division will kick off July 8 and Coastal Division will kick off July 9. Both divisions play at Ansonborough Park. The summer season is the last chance for teams to secure one of the coveted spots to participate in the World Kickball Champion at the annual Founders Cup tournament in Las Vegas in October. Swishing at the Swamp
Ashley Ridge High School will host the Swishing at The Swamp Basketball Camp for boys age 6-16 July 13-17. The camp is designed for players of all ability levels and will be held in the ARHS gym. Cost is $185 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt and awards. Head Swamp Fox Basketball Coach Brian Welch will head a staff of coaches who will supervise activities. Dye-McKee clinics
Danny Dye, Bryant McKee and Jeremiah Dye head a list of instructors who are teaming up to offer tennis clinics this summer. Sessions will run an hour per day Monday through Friday July 13-17, July 20-24 and July 27-31. Sessions are $50 per week and will be conducted in the mornings by age groups: 8:30-9:30 - Ages 6-11; 9:30-10:30 - Ages 12 and up; and 10:30-11:30 - Advanced group for tournament players and varsity high school players. Fox football
Varsity football season tickets with reserved seating are now available for the upcoming 2009 Ashley Ridge High School football season. Reserved seats are $65 per person and include a free parking pass with each family pack of reserved seats purchased. Senior citizen and district employees reserved seats are $35. FD soccer
Fort Dorchester High School will host a soccer camp for youth age 9-14 with a minimum of three years of soccer experience. Camp will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. July 27-31. Dutch soccer camp
Midwest Soccer Academy will run soccer training camps at the Summerville YMCA Oakbrook sports complex this summer. The week-long camps for the U10-oU-15 and U5-U9 age groups will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of the MSA Staff flown to the USA exclusively to perform a series of summer soccer coaching clinics. Soccer camp
The Summerville Soccer Club will host summer camp July 13-16. All camp activities will take place at the SSC Complex, 10 Walden Road. Each week will offer two camps, one for developmental players interested in recreational soccer, and one for more advanced players interested in classic, challenge and premier soccer. The SSC Rec Camp is for players ages 3-18 and runs 9 a.m.-noon each day. Cost is $75 and includes a T-shirt. The SSC Select Camp is for players ages 8-18 and runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Sertoma camp
The Summerville Sertoma Club will host youth football camps this spring and summer. The registration fee is $55 per camper with an additional $5 charge for those not registering at least 15 days prior to the camp date. Football training
The Summerville Sertoma club will offer weekly skill training as part of its new FAST program beginning this month and running through July. FAST is specifically designed for athletes age 9-18 who want to take their game to the next level. The program focuses on building speed, agility, core strength and discipline.
