Charity golf
The second annual Legend Oaks Gives Back golf tournament to benefit Summerville Meals on Wheels and The Palmetto House is scheduled for Sept. 12 at Legend Oaks Golf Club. The registration fee is $75 per person or $300 per foursome and covers greens fees, cart, bag lunch and prizes. Corporate sponsorships for the Captain’s Choice tournament are available. A silent acution/dinner will be held in conjunction with the tournament at 6 p.m. July 11. Tickets are $20 per person. Kiwanis 5K
The first annual Kiwanis Club of Summerville 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Corner of Cedar Street and Richardson Avenue. A fun run will follow at 10 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the race, which will benefit the Summerville Terrific Kids Program and the Summerville High School Key Club, through Sept. 5. The 5K will use the same course used for the Race for The Ark. Online registration for individual runners is available at setupevent.com for $25 prior to Sept. 30 and $35 after Sept. 30. Swamp Fox tickets
Ashley Ridge High School Varsity football season tickets with reserved seating are available for the 2010 football season. Reserved seats including season ticket prices are $65 per person. A free parking pass comes with the purchase of two seats.Senior citizen and district employees reserved seats are $35. Wave tickets
Tickets for Summerville High School home football games will be available every Thursday and Friday the week of home games at the Dorchester School District Two office as well as at the SHS Student Information booth. Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Tickets will also be available at the gate on game nights for $8. The Green Wave opens its regular season Aug. 27 at home against Conway. Other home games are scheduled for Sept. 3, Sept. 17, Oct. 1, Oct. 22 and Nov. 5.
SSC registration

Storm Cross Country
Storm Cross Country has opened registration for all ages. Sign ups will be held at
Newington Elementary School at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7. Conditioning sessions have already begun. Fees are $65 for one child and $60 for additional family members. Call 851-2105 if you are interested in participating or volunteering or for further information.

Tour needs volunteers
The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island has opened enrollment for volunteers. The 2010 season-ending event, to be held Oct. 25-31, will feature the top 60 money winners, who will compete for 25 PGA TOUR cards and a spot on the 2011
PGA Tour. Over 650 volunteers are needed to staff this world-class tournament. Volunteers ages 12 and up can serve in a wide range of areas, and there are many positions available for those who may not have golf knowledge, but want to participate. Golf Card
Orders can now be placed for the 2010 Golf Privilege Card. The program offers cardholders discounts of up to 60 percent at more than 3,000 participating courses nationwide. Now, through the Golf Privilege website, golfers can also track the courses they have played, view the discounts available at each course and schedule tee times all from the convenience of their own homes.
