An Aiken man is dead following a Monday morning shooting on the city's Southside. 

Jalen Jones, 22, of Aiken was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds after officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of Greenwich Drive, Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said. 

Greenwich Drive is located on Aiken's Southside off Silver Bluff Road. 

Aiken Department of Public Safety officers and the coroner's office were called to the scene around 11 a.m., Ables and Lt. Jennifer Hayes said. 

Upon arrival, officers found Jones's body in the shed behind the residence. 

Jones's body will be autopsied in Newberry on Thursday, Ables said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
