The School of Education, Health, and Human Performance at the College of Charleston is sponsoring a meeting to provide parents the opportunity to hear gifted educators, policymakers and parents address frequently asked questions they encounter about their gifted child.
The meeting will offer interested parents the opportunity to learn more about advocacy for their youngsters and how to become involved in a parent network.
Gifted education representatives will discuss frequently asked questions such as who is gifted, what are some of the things that parents should know about their gifted child and what kind of education should parents expect for their gifted child.
A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion. The meeting will end with a discussion of advocacy and next steps for establishing a parent network.
While parents of gifted children are the targeted audience, any interested person is welcome to attend including educators and school district officials.
The event will take place on Dec. 13 from 10ñ11:30 a.m. in The School of Education, Health, and Human Performance, Alumni Center ñ Rooms 117 & 118, 86 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
