Pinewood announces new Director of Communication and Public Relations


Pinewood Preparatory School announces the hiring of Brooks Hearn Crom as its Director of Communication and Public Relations.

Crom brings years of experience in public relations, marketing, and sales in the non-profit, educational, and tourism sectors. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return to an independent school, and join a phenomenal faculty, staff, and school family,” she said of her new venture.

A Summerville resident for more than 20 years, Crom graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of South Carolina Honors College and received a master’s degree in public administration from the College of Charleston. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has written numerous articles featured in local magazines and newspapers, and is a volunteer and board member for several local nonprofits.

In addition to bringing strong professional skills to the position, Brooks has tremendous positive energy and excellent contacts in the community,” said Head of School Steve Mandell.
