MeadWestvaco and Audubon South Carolina and will offer a one-week course for teachers in Dorchester Two, Dorchester Four, Berkeley, Charleston and Colleton County school districts.  

The workshop, now in its fifth year, showcases forestry in the Lowcountry and includes field trips to Francis Beidler Forest, MeadWestvaco forestlands, the Francis Marion National Forest, and several private landownerships.  

The award-winning environmental education program, Project Learning Tree (PLT), will be an integral part of the week; and teachers will receive materials to use PLT in the classroom. ??This program targets science teachers in grades 3 through 12 but is open to teachers of all subjects. Teachers can earn 33 recertification units and receive materials to use PLT in the classroom. ??
