The retirement community, Del Webb Charleston at Nexton, is planning to cut the ribbon this month on its new 26,000-square-foot amenity center for residents to enjoy additional indoor and outdoor recreation and relaxation. In addition to an outdoor saltwater pool and lounge area, Del Webb officials likened to a resort, the center will also feature an indoor swimming area.
The center will additionally feature an alfresco kitchen and courts for playing tennis, bocce ball and pickleball. A state-of-the-art fitness center, complete with a studio for participating in yoga, Tai Chi and aerobics, will be housed inside the center, which will also allow residents and their guests space for card games, social gatherings and other hobbies.
The ribbon-cutting event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The facility is located at 1261 Del Webb Drive in Summerville.
Popular Mt. Pleasant eatery, Page’s Okra Grill, announced on Facebook earlier this month, it plans to open a second location in Summerville by early 2020. The restaurant will move in to the rapidly-developing Nexton Square. According to the social media post, business owners closed on the future property on July 10.
According to the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce, on July 19 A+ Auto Service celebrated the grand opening of its second area location at 621 Old Trolley Road. Its main site is located in North Charleston. The business specializes in not only general automotive repairs but also tires, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and transmission repair, according to its website.
On June 28, MedAltus LLC, cut the ribbon on its new facility. MedAltus is a leading e-commerce retailer with a focus on dermatologist recommended skincare and healthy lifestyle products, the chamber said.
