Police: Fight for gun before shots fired inside White Gables

The Summerville Police Department said police responded to a fight over a gun and when officers arrived they discovered one person unresponsive and another who said they were shot in the in arm.

The police report from the incident that happened around 3:30 p.m. on July 9 on Pimpernel Street said police were told by dispatch that there were two people fighting over a firearm and two people were injured.

Police said when they got on the scene they heard yelling from the back of the home. When officers entered the backyard they saw a female who said she was shot. The incident report states the officers asked where to find the gun and she pointed at a vehicle in the driveway.

Police said they found a male, who did not appear to be breathing, with a gunshot wound. Officers then called in crime scene detectives to investigate. The Summerville Police Department said there will be no criminal charges related to the incident.
