Woman free on $55,000 bond, tried to enter school bus with gun

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened back on Sept. 19.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office said the incident began late in the afternoon with a minor traffic crash. The driver of a school bus stated she almost hit the suspect’s car when she changed lanes while the bus was pulling out of a side street onto Ashley Phosphate Road.

Unknown to the bus driver actual contact was made with the car causing minor damage.

The bus driver said the suspect then followed her to one of the bus stops. According to deputies, while attempting to let two children off the bus, the suspect approached the bus with gun in hand and attempted to gain entry.

The driver drove the bus away and the suspect continued to follow her. An investigation started on Sept. 19. The suspect was arrested on Sept. 23, after additional information and evidence was discovered.

On Sept. 23, Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Brendysha Christian Liner, 25, of Charleston.

She has been charged with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Disturbing Schools, Carrying a Weapon onto School Property. Liner had a bond hearing and was released on a total of $55,000 cash surety bonds.
