Duncan was born on January 6, 1956 in Champaign, IL, son of the late Ralph M. and Gretchen Jaenicke. He graduated from The University of Illinois where earned a degree in journalism. He and his wife are members of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerville.
Duncan, a proud Eagle Scout, loved many things enthusiastically; biking with his loyal canine companions, participating in (vigorous!) political discourse, exploring the beauty of creation whether by land, air or sea, and flexing his creative muscles as an often published Christian author. More than any of these though, he truly loved and cherished the people God placed in his life--especially his beloved wife, Nada. But his chief love, and never failing companion, was his Lord Jesus. Duncan gave his heart to Christ as a young man, and this relationship was the compass that guided the rest of his days. When praying, he would often end with, “You’re the best Lord.” And now he has heard the voice of his Truest Friend say, “Well done good and faithful servant. Welcome home, my friend.”
Surviving in addition to his wife Nada are four children: Zorica Alves (Elton) of Moncks Corner, Bethany Fotia (Doug) of Charleston, Grace Peterson (Richard) of Summerville, and Nikola Radakovic of Summerville; four grandchildren: Viktoria, Lilly, Gabriella, and Jonathan; two brothers: Kris Jaenicke (Ann) of Hudson, OH and Kurt Jaenicke (Pamela) of Newport, RI.
