BWS will invite the town of Summerville and Dorchester County Council representatives to join the ride or for a 7 p.m. meet and greet at Montreux’s Grill.

The Ride of Silence requires helmets and a waiver, which may be signed at the 5:30 registration, which starts at 5:30 p.m. It will aim for a 10mph speed to accommodate different levels of biking ability and enhance safety.

“We are excited to follow up on last year’s event, taking what worked and refining it to make it more enjoyable for everyone,” said Chris McClure, BWS director. “We’re especially excited for our new generation of councilmembers to have the opportunity to see the support our community has.”

Bike/Walk Summerville is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for safer active transportation options within the greater Summerville area by hosting group ride demonstrations, recreational slow rolls to the Summerville farmer’s market, and reliably attending public meetings.
