Ralph Hayes, executive director for the Dorchester Two Educational Foundation in Dorchester School District Two, is the first education foundation leader in South Carolina to earn recognition as a Certified Education Foundation Leader.
Hayes is among 98 professionals nationwide to receive this designation through the National Association of Education Foundations (NAEF). As the industry leader in education foundations, NAEF develops and promotes best practices and advocacy for community investment in public education. The courses focused on critical topics, including board development, leadership and planning, resource development, and marketing.
“I am eager to apply new insight to benefit our Dorchester Two Educational Foundation so we can continue to grow our impact on DD2 teachers and students,” Hayes said.
Hayes also graduated this past December from Together SC’s Carolina Leadership Seminars, which provides best practices and peer guidance in the nonprofit field. The course included 27 nonprofit executives leading participants to transform their organization’s performance and leadership. The sessions offered practical tools and actionable insights to improve leadership, help stewardship for nonprofit organizations, and increase impact.
Since 2022, Hayes has been a National Association of Education Foundations board member.
Dorchester Two Educational Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) that builds partnerships and raises funds to support teachers and students. The Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million to DD2 over the past eight years.
